Alltel Wireless has announced the expansion of its broadband Wireless Internet service in the Shreveport area. The service will make use of the next generation EVDO (evolution data optimized) technology for unlimited wireless access to the Internet at speeds almost equal to wired broadband connections, like cable modems or DSL. To access the broadband network, users will require an EVDO-capable handset, like “The Wafer” by Samsung (News - Alert).
